We were delighted to host our very first batch of students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Sta. Mesa campus.
For these sophomore Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations students, it was their very first time to enter a printing company’s press facilities. They were very eager and excited to learn first hand about the entire printing process from origination to fulfillment as required by their curriculum.
The seven students who came for the site visit were: Reniel Barcelona, Josefa Sato, Karla Mae B. de los Santos, Almira Flandez, Rosemarie Ann Cruz, Zillahmie Malaay and Cyril Joseph Riofrir.
As a progressive printing company, it is our advocacy to teach and engage as many young people about the graphics profession. We see this as our contribution in attracting interest in the art, craft and science of printing as a career opportunity.
This is to ensure that we will not have a dearth of fresh talent in our industry, which is facing challenges due to an aging workforce, many of whom are already preparing for retirement.
More importantly, this is to prod young people to appreciate the benefits of print media as an important complement to digital. As these new entrants to the workforce find their way through the different companies they will eventually work for, they will be promoting the merits of print thus exponentially spreading the word.
