Before the main workshop, Tom Carunungan, Dscoop Philippines Chairman and Nitto Printing, Inc. President, together with Tim Klappe, Managing Director of Norde International and Rico De Los Santos, Business Development Manager explained the mission of Dscoop for its participants and how it can help the cooperative that it aims to build in the country. The other Dscoop Philippines officers namely, Vice-Chairman, Joaquin Co of Top Best, Co-Vice-Chairman, Cherry Salazar of GA Printing, Treasurer, Mary Sy of Brushstroke Creatives, Mr. Howard Yam of Scanwell Graphics who represented his sister, Secretary Vivette Yam-Chua, and P.R.O. Maldwyn de Pano of Design Plus actively gave their full support and participation to the event.

Even at its early stage, as the activities unfolded, an animated exchange of conversations and interaction with the members transpired. This then met the initial objectives of cooperation and sharing of knowledge on best practices among users and non-users of HP graphic printers which may be helpful in the develpment of their business.
Furthermore, training sessions were held simultaneously in two halls. Weng Kong Chan from HP explained Media and Priming to the attendees. Questions were raised from both participants and Mr. Kong himself. Stella Weng and Calvin Tan of GMG soon followed and they discussed the subject of Color Management.
While in the other session room, Ricelle Cruzado of HP lectured on Color Management for Large Format. Proofing was explained by Maan Bernardino of Norde International and she noted that proofing is a big part of quality control. Through this step, the text, colors and graphics can be reviewed before actual print out. Lastly, to complete the workshop, Tim Klappe explained Wide Format Latex printing for short run production, Mr. Klappe elaborated on cost calculation of Offset versus Digital.
